Tirissa was a normal ten year old who lived with a family that she loved. Well, normal in that she was ten and did chores and . . . talked to trees and saw a giant bird.
When her family and village are put under a spell, for some unexplicable reason Tirissa is not affected. With the help of a herbwoman, a troll, and a chatterbox, Tirissa searches out the way to break the spell. She presses on to save her family and discovers her inner strength in doing so.
A wonderfully written coming of age story, Tirissa and the Necklace of Nulidor, the author Willow tells us a tale of a young girl who faces and overcomes hardships of all kinds to save her family. She discovers her strengths, her past, and in the end she is no longer a child but a young woman. Full of fantasy, adventure and danger with fantastical characters who are written well enough to walk off the page, this book would make a welcome addition to any preteen's library. If you are an adult who enjoys reading coming of age stories that are well written you should add this to your library as well.
